A Private Viewing of a Friend's Collection

A nice assortment of statuettes
One of the great things about this blog is meeting so many wonderful people who are really serious about their faith and culture. On top of inviting us to their religio-cultural events, they also love to share their interesting family heirlooms and ephemera collections with us. Just yesterday, a friend gave us a peak at his wonderful collection of vintage San Gennaro statues and prints of Mount Vesuvius erupting. While I’ve seen most of the busts before (I own two myself), the full-length figure was a nice surprise and by far my favorite. While the prints weren’t in the greatest condition (the edges are discolored with foxing), they were still a pleasure to see. Currently sorting out his stuff, he assures us there is plenty more where this came from, and we will be the first to view them.
