Beginning on November 30th, the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle, the following prayer of anticipation is traditionally recited fifteen times a day until Christmas to help us prepare for the coming of Our Lord.
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, [State your intentions here...] through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.
The accompanying photo of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ by Belisario Corenzio (c.1558-1643) was taken by Andrew Giordano at the Duomo di Salerno.
