| Beato Angelo da Furci, ora pro nobis |
February 6th is the Feast of Blessed Angelus of Furci (1257-1327), Augustinian friar and professor of theology at the University of Naples. A distinguished theologian and orator, he turned down the bishoprics of Melfi and Acerra out of humility. He is the patron saint of Furci, Chieti, where he is also venerated on September 13th in remembrance of the translation of his relics from Naples.

O Padre che hai reso grande il B. Angelo nell'esercizio delle virtù, concedici mediante la sua intercessione di imitarne la vita, perché vivendo i precetti evangelici meritiamo la gloria del paradiso. Per Cristo nostro Signore.
