“It’s a persecution of Latin Mass Catholics, plain and simple.” ~ Fr. Gerald E. Murray *
After ten years, the Traditional Latin Mass will no longer be allowed to be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. The final Mass, celebrated by Fr. Leo Camurati, O.P., was solemn and well attended. They unquestionably had one of the best choirs in New York City.
Though sad, we are confident the persecution of Traditional Catholics will only make us more resolute and unswerving in our Faith. We offer prayers for our dear friends in the Brooklyn Latin Mass society who worked tirelessly on organizing and promoting the Masses at this beautiful little church.
In addition to Holy Name, we’re sorry to say the Traditional Latin Mass at St. Finbar, St. Cecilia, and (my current Parish) Our Lady of Peace in Brooklyn has already been or is on the brink of being shut down. Rumors abound about where we will be relocated to, but until they are confirmed, we are keeping silent. One thing is for sure, we will do our best to support the new locations wherever they may be.
(L) Beautiful High Altar. (R) Missalettes were generously provided by Brooklyn Latin Mass. In solidarity with our brethren in Spain, we also offered prayers for the Mártires de la Tradición |
