A Look at the Inaugural Italian American Karaoke Night at the Feast of San Gennaro

Sabino, Rosella, John and Pat
Trying something new, organizers hosted their first-ever live Italian American Podcast (IAP) Sunday evening at the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy, New York. Braving the unpleasant weather, a large crowd turned out to watch John, Rosella and Pat do their immensely popular show in person. In addition to their usual didactic cacophony, the IAP had several guests on the show, including Andrew and Ernest from world famous Ferrara Bakery and internet sensation Sabino Curcio from Growing Up Italian.

After the show, revelers took to the stage and sang their hearts out at the inaugural Italian American Karaoke extravaganza. In addition to the many famous Italian American and Neapolitan standards (e.g. Tu Vuo' Fa' L'Americano), performers also did their best renditions of American pop songs, including Rapper's Delight by the Sugarhill Gang and She Works Hard for the Money by Donna Summer.

The podcast and karaoke were a welcome addition to the already stellar entertainment planned throughout the feast. It is great to see they're not resting on their laurels and willing to try something new. Evviva San Gennaro!
