The fun starts at the junction of N 9th, Withers and Havemeyer Streets
The Giglio Band played our favorite Neapolitan and Italian American songs
Despite the threat of rain, revelers turned out in force for the celebration
The giglio slowly dances its way through the throng
With much fanfare, the boat sets sail down Havemeyer Street
(Above and below) A good time was had by all
It was great to see our friends Tony, Elmina and their delightful family
The paranza (lifters) show tremendous strength and spirit
(Above and below) During the "double lift" the giglio and boat meet in front of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (275 N 8th St.) and pandemonium ensues
Joey Aragona made a fantastic "Grand Turk"
Our good friend Lieutenant Dom Varuzza (third from right)
poses with family and friends between lifts
Our pals Yoda and Michael show their support
