Cavaliere Napoli's certificate of membership Photos by New York Scugnizzo |
Over Independence Day weekend, Il Regno's very own Cav. John Napoli was kind enough to show us his brevet and medals from the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George (Sacro Militare Ordine Constantiniano di San Giorgio), an ancient Roman Catholic dynastic order of Knighthood, which according to tradition traces its origins back to Emperor Constantine.
Invested into the Order on April 30, 2016 as a Knight of Merit, Cav. Napoli received his medal, church mantle and certificate of membership signed by HRH Prince Carlo Maria di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, Duke of Castro and Grand Master of the Order.

“It was one of the proudest moments of my life,” said Cav. Napoli, recalling his special day at Holy Innocents Church in Manhattan. “I’m honored to be a part of the U.S. Delegation and look forward to serving the Royal Family.”

Beaming with joy, he presented a royal blue Gardino Gioielleria e Onorificenze case with monogram lid. Inside was a beautifully crafted neck badge with sky blue watered silk ribbon and 2 X 2 inch vermeil Greek Cross flory with crimson enamel.

The insignia is adorned with the Chi Rho (XP) and Alpha (A) and Omega (Ω) monograms. At the end of each limb of the cross are the first letters of the order’s motto In Hoc Signo Vinces (“In this sign you will conquer”), which has its origins in Constantine the Great's vision at the Battle of Melvin Bridge on October 28, 312 AD.
The set also included a miniature and lapel hole rosette.
