I made my way to Saint Mary's Church (1008 49th Avenue) in Long Island City on Saturday (Sept. 7th) to participate in the 106th Annual Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. Sponsored by the Societa Maria SS. Addolorata di Pignataro Interamna, the celebration was a magnificent display of faith and devotion.

Following the wonderful service, a candlelight procession with a brass band accompanied the statue of the Blessed Mother through the neighborhood.

Afterward we enjoyed some refreshments in the church auditorium. I was warmly welcomed and met many friendly people. I offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to the Societa Maria SS. Addolorata di Pignataro Interamna for their hard work and generosity. They provide an invaluable service to our community. Evviva Maria!
