Upcoming Art Exhibitions in New York City (2026)

Despite the ongoing decline in curatorial rigor, which is increasingly subordinated to ideology, a handful of exhibitions in 2026 remain worth marking. Taken together, they suggest that even in a compromised cultural climate, seriousness has not entirely disappeared; it has merely become rarer, and therefore more worth seeking out.
