Glimpses of Glory: A Friend’s Photos from “To the Holy Sepulcher: Treasures from the Terra Sancta Museum” Exhibit at the Frick Collection in NYC

A friend of ours just shared a few photos from To the Holy Sepulcher: Treasures from the Terra Sancta Museum—and they’re nothing short of breathtaking. The exhibition, on view at the Frick from October 2, 2025, to January 5, 2026, brings together more than forty extraordinary objects from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, many unseen by the public until now. In the images, you can almost feel the reverence emanating from the gem-encrusted chalices and gilded reliquaries once gifted by Catholic monarchs and Holy Roman Emperors. It’s humbling to realize these sacred works—so long safeguarded by Franciscan friars in Jerusalem—have journeyed across centuries and continents to be displayed here. Even through photos, the exhibition radiates a sense of devotion, artistry, and continuity that feels both timeless and profoundly moving.
