Compra Sud Directory

Taking the cue from our friends in Southern Italy (CompraSud, Made in South Italy TodayNato Brigante, Compro a Sud, etc.), we’re promoting businesses that cater to the southern Italian community. Those that maintain our traditions and folkways deserve our patronage.
Too many times we have heard people lament the disappearance of their favorite restaurant or other place of business. A good piece of common sense, that unfortunately many people forget, is that if you want something to endure you must give it your support. If we love southern Italian eateries, artists, cultural institutions, and ethnic specialty stores, then it is important to frequent their establishments. To thrive they need more than nostalgic mentions, they need steady patrons and the business they bring in.
Luckily in NYC and elsewhere there are still plenty of great southern Italian businesses that are definitely worth visiting and we are going to do our best to make sure that you know about them. Our recommendations will be unsolicited, and only from our personal experience. No second hand suggestions will be made. If you feel the same passion for your heritage as we do, then you’ll want to support the southern Italian community and make sure we always have someplace special to eat or do business. We think you should give these places a try.
Our Compra Sud Directory will be periodically updated so please remember to check back. Be sure to verify business hours with the proprietors.
